Summer School
The tenth McGlinchey Summer School begins on the morning of Friday June 29 with a trip on the Buncrana Ferry across the Swilly to Rathmullan to commemorate the Flight of the Earls. Assemble at Buncrana Pier at 10am. The official opening takes place at 7.30pm that evening in the Community Centre. Everyone is more than welcome to come along. On Thursday June 28 Radio Na Gaeltachta will broadcast a live programme from the Community Centre between 11am and 12 noon. Anyone interested in taking part must arrive at the Centre by 10:30am. We wish every success to The McGlinchey Summer School with their variety of events to suit everyone. The website has been launched and carries detailed information and schedules for this year’s Summer School www.mcglinchey.ie. The parish of Clonmany extends a special welcome to everyone who has come to Clonmany for the weekend.
Agricultural Show
The Clonmany Agricultural Show and Sheepdog Association will hold their 40th Annual Agricultural Show on Tuesday August 7 at Pollan Green Ballyliffin. Classes for Horses, Ponies, Cattle, Donkeys, Sheep, Sheepdog Trials, Arts, Crafts, Home Industries, Baking and Jams. The afternoon events include Best Dressed Lady, Children’s Pet Show, Dog Show (with €600 Prize Fund), and loads of other prizes, Pony Sports, and Children’s Sports. A great day out for all the family! The committee will meet this Tuesday 26 June in the Ballyliffin Hotel at 9.00pm.
“The Friends of Alan Doherty”
This weekend sees the Sponsored Walk/Run in support of the appeal for Alan Doherty the Donegal teenager who was born with an extremely rare condition which has left him without a chin. On Sunday 1st July at 2pm the walk will set off from the Market Square, Clonmany and make its way to Cockhill. Alan has already travelled to New York to have preparatory surgery performed to enable him have a chin. If you would like to take part in the walk/run please call Grace 086 1091624 for a sponsor card. Your support would be kindly appreciated.
Ceili Mor
The Clonmany Parents Committee will be holding a Ceili in Clonmany Hall on Friday July 6 to raise vital funds for the equipment and furniture for new school. Everyone is encouraged to come along and support this event. It’s a bit of fun and all money raised is going towards our new school.
Charity Dance
There will be a dance in support of the Inishowen Cancer Support Group in the Malin Hotel on Friday August 3 featuring Inishowen Smokie with special guest, Ballymoney’s answer to Big Tom, Alistair Coyles, as well as Donegal’s No1 Accordion John McGeoghan. Dancing is from 11pm to 2.00am and admission is €5 available on the door on the night of the dance. Tickets are also available from outlets throughout Inishowen.
Inishowen Gardening Club
The club will visit two gardens in Raphoe on Saturday 30th June. We will visit Rossban Garden and Robinson’s Garden. Please assemble in the Diamond, Carndonagh at 11am. Booking essential with

Clothing left in Straid
A large number of items of clothing have been left in the Urris changing rooms at Straid over the last couple of months and if not claimed by the end of the month they will be given to a local charity.
Urris Clean up
Volunteers are needed to help with the clean-up of Urris beaches on Wednesday June 27. Please report to Urris Church at 10:30am.
Courses at Youth Club
A Certificate of Science in Computing for Women will take place in Clonmany Youth & Community Resource Centre from September to December 2007. This course will run three days a week from 10am - 2pm.
