October 22nd, 2007

Councillr Pádraig MacLochlainn would like to let it be known that a number of road safety measures have been approved funding and are to be undertaken in the near future in the Clonmany parish. Traffic islands are to be installed at Cleagh outside the nursing homes and vision lines at the junction from Cloontagh on to the main R238 are to be attained. 35,000 eurohas been approved for works at the Dunaff PO and a further €100,000 has also been allocated to the completion of the pavement at Chapel Glen. Councillor MacLochlainn would like to acknowledge the support of his colleague Councillor Denis McGonagle in securing this very necessary funding. There are further issues being addressed such as the Mintiagh and Mindoran bends, as well as additional traffic calming at Cloontagh and Rasheney schools.
