Sad Death
The death occurred recently in Letterkenny General Hospital of Mary Barron, Lenamore, Muff, after a long illness bravely borne. She is survived by her husband Frank her sons Patrick, John, Frankie, Noel and Michael, her daughters Celia, Bridgeen and Margaret, her brothers John, Joe, Gerard and Raymond and her sister Bridie. To all these deepest sympathy is extended. She was predeceased by her son Paul, her brothers Peter, Frank and Pat, her sisters Rose and Maggie. Mary was a very strong woman who wasn’t interested in the material things in life but was happy to live a very simple lifestyle dedicating her time to her husband and family. She never minced her words, what you saw is what you got. Forty-two years ago when Frank had to spend four years in hospital she ran the family business more or less single-handed as well as caring for her large family. Requiem Mass was concelebrated in the Sacred Heart Church Muff, by Father John Farren and Father Colm Morris, Father Eddie McColgan was also present. The readings were by her grandson Mark and her granddaughter Pauline. Prayers of the faithful were by grandchildren and her grandchildren also brought up the gifts. Granddaughters Una and Roisin Brogan and her cousin Gerard Barron supplied the music in the church. The large number of people who called to the house and attended the funeral was evidence of the esteem in which Mary was held. She will be sadly missed by family and particularly by her grandchildren and great grandchildren with whom she had a great rapport and all her friends in the area. May she rest in peace.
