Deepest sympathy
The Parish of Culdaff was shocked and saddened by the recent death of Hugh Doherty (H), Redrow, Culdaff. The deceased had being ill for a short time and was just in his late fifties. Hughie, as he was known, had spent most of his life working as a labourer and was extremely well known all over Inishowen. He was a quiet, modest man who enjoyed life. The large numbers that called in his home in Culdaff to offer their sympathy and the very large numbers at his funeral, which took place in St. Mary’s Bocan, reflected the high esteem in which Hughie and the family held. Requiem mass was celebrated by Fr Joseph Morris, Bocan, who officiated at the graveside in the adjoining cemetery. Deepest sympathy is extended to his sisters Eileen, Sally and Carmel, his brothers Calum, Martin and Daniel all his nephews and nieces and all the family circle. May he rest in peace. Another regretted death is that of Nellie O’Donnell, Drumaville, Lecamy, who died recently in Letterkenny hospital just a year after a short illness. Nellie, who was in her late seventies, was predeceased by her husband Francis in 1992. She was a devoted wife, mother and granny and always happy to welcome all callers to her home. She was a quiet, friendly person. The esteem in which she was held was shown by the large crowd who attended the removal of her remains from the hospital to her home in Drumaville where she was waked and by the large numbers who called to her home to offer their sympathy and attended her funeral that took place to St Mary’s Church, Bocan where requiem mass was celebrated by Fr Jim McGonagle who also officiated at the graveside in the adjoining cemetery. Deepest sympathy is extended to her son Michael and daughter Una, daughter in law and son in law and all her grandchildren, her sisters Rose, Josie Frances, bride and Lily, her brother Packie and sister in law, all her nephews and nieces and the wider family circle. May she rest in peace.
