Carn FC
Workers did well to get their pitch into such fine condition for their Credit Union Cup tie against Illies on St Patrick’s Day after the recent heavy rain. In fact the weather was so good on the day that a good crowd turned out to see a tight game that went into extra time after ending 0-0, and on to penalties where the home side lost out by four goals to three. Carn certainly created the best chances during the coarse of the game but unfortunately failed to convert any of them. The reserves again had their match called off, as the pitch could not have withstood two matches on the same day. There is still a shortage of helpers for the U/8 and U/10 training on Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 6pm and 6pm to 7pm. With the likely increase in numbers, it is vital to have more help with super vision or some children may have to be turned away. Any parent who can give one hour, if only occasionally, please contact any youth committee member and help out with the great work going on in St Patrick’s Park. The Youth League will commence on April 14. The U/16 training started on Good Friday at 5.30pm. Please bring boots and runners. Niall McLaughlin was the recent winner in the First Score.
