Gleneely Colts Football Club

Gleneely Colts Football Club Development Draw will take place in April with first prize of 15,000, 2nd prize of 5,000 and 3rd prize of 3,000, plus 9 other great cash prizes. Tickets are on sale throughout Inishowen priced at 100 euro. There is still time to buy a lucky ticket. Your support would be very much appreciated.

 

Reunion

Scoil Mhuire Gleneely will hold their reunion dinner dance on Friday, August 1 in the Malin Hotel, Music by The Country Boys. Dinner served at 8.30pm. Tickets are on sale in local shops and are priced at 25 euro each or any of the committee; Mary McDaid, Kathleen Mc Callion, Paddy McLaughlin, Joe Kearney, Hubert McLaughlin, Niall McDaid. Tickets limited, reunion book on sale of past and present school year. On the night of the dance if anyone has old photos before 1990 the committee would be most grateful to have a loan of them and they will be returned after the dance. Thank you.

 

Forty Five Card Drive

Forty Five Card Drive winners in Gleneely last week were; Eddie Duffy, Moneydarragh, Paul McElhinney, Moneydarragh, Neil McCallion, Kindroyhead, Gleneely and Jim Doherty, Terrone, Moville.

 

Whist Winners

Whist Winners in Bocan Hall on Friday night were; 1st Phyllis Lloyd, Garrowreagh, 2nd Dillon Doherty, Carrowmore, Gleneely, 3rd Mickey O’Donnell, Ballybeg, Carn. Other winners were Father McGonagle, Parochial House, Bocan, Rita Mc Cormick., Moville, John Duffy, Derry, Mary McDermott, Falmore. Draw winners Gerard Doherty, Ourt, Ernie Mc Lucas, Carn and Neily McCallion, Kindroyhead. Snowball on March 28 is 40 euro for a score of 188 or more and commencing at 8.45pm.

 

Church-gate collection

A big thank you to all who contributed to the recent Church Gate Collection for the Donegal Diabetes Associated. It raised 370 euro for their funds.

 

Culdaff Football Club/ Gleneely Colts

The local football clubs are undergoing a trial season in the joint promotion of youth football. As a result there will be a registration day for all players in the parish who are interested in youth football this season, on Saturday, March 22 at Caratra Park, Culdaff from 10am to 12 noon. Anyone interested in playing under 12-14-16 or 18 should attend to fill out their registration form, meet the team managers and get their training details. The under 10s will start at a later date. Coaches from both Culdaff and Gleneely will manage the teams this season. All children are most welcome.

 

Gleneely FC Lotto

The numbers drawn in the Gleneely FC Lotto were; 5, 7, 15 and18. There was no jackpot winner and the 20-euro winners were Michael Harkin, Ourt, Gleneely; Donna Maire McLaughlin, Ourt, Gleneely; Brenda Doherty, Mullins, Carn; Daith Mooney, Effishmore, Gleneely and Cian Jordan, Glack. Next week the jackpot is 3,050 euro and the draw will take place in the Orchard bar on Sunday night at 10pm.

 

Old-time dancing

Old-time dancing classes for beginners in The Wee Hall, Culdaff on Thursday, March 27 from 8.30-10.30pm. Admission 5 euro inc. tea and biscuits served. Come along and enjoy the craic.

 

Culdaff FC

The numbers drawn in Culdaff FC Lotto on Sunday night were; 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8. There was no jackpot winner. The 20-euro winners were; Mary McGonagle, St.Bodens, Culdaff; George Murphy, Culdaff and John Harkin, Cashel, Gleneely. Next week’s jackpot is now 3,200 euro.

 

Employment project

A new community employment project is due to start in the area in April. The project will be based in the Culdaff , Gleneely and Carrowreagh areas. Vacancies exist for general works. Inishowen Organic Group

The next meeting of the Inishowen Organic Group will take place in Mc Clure’s Bar, Bridge Street, Carndonagh on Thursday March 27 at 8pm. Light refreshments served. New members welcome.
