Parish draw

Winners in the Parish Draw were; Roisin Brogan, Lenamore, 1,000 euro, Brenda Rutherford, Carrie, 300 euro, Father John Farren, Iskaheen, 200 euro and Jimmy Ruddy, Ture, 100 euro.

 

Church-gate collection

The church-gate collection next week will be taken up by the St Vincent De Paul for the Mission in Uganda. Please give generously to this very important cause.

 

Thank you

St Vincent de Paul wishes to thank all who supported the Christmas Day trip in any way. The totals raised was 3,573 euro and £333.

 

Meeting

Parents, guardians of pupils of Carndonagh School from the Drung, Muff and Iskaheen areas are invited to a meeting in Foody’s Lodge, Quigley’s Point on Wednesday, April 2 at 7.30pm. One of the purposes of the meeting is to nominate names for the board of management.

 

Muff festival

The agm of the Muff festival took place in St Mary’s Community Hall yesterday (Tuesday, March 25).

 

Bingo

Community Bingo as usual on Saturday night in St Mary’s Community Hall at 9.15pm. Your continued support is appreciated.

 

Trócaire boxes

Fr Farren would be grateful if the contents of Trocaire boxes could be handed in during the week.

 

Annual Spring clean

Calling all committees, residents, associations and concerned individuals. Muff Community Development (Meitheal Mhaighe) is organising its annual Spring clean (Meitheal Ghlanadh An Earriagh) on Saturday, April 5. Proceedings kick off at 10am in St Mary’s Community Hall with a cup of tea followed by a short video on recycling. Gloves, bags, etc, will be supplied. It’s our village. Let us take pride in it by helping with the Spring clean.

 

Wedding

The wedding took place recently of Mairead McColgan, daughter of Eamonn and Patricia McColgan, Iskaheen, Muff and Phil Howie son of Ernest and Thelma Howie, Ness Woods, Co Derry. Bridesmaids were Karen McColgan, sister of the bride, and Adrienne Rafferty, friend of the bride, Tanya McColgan, sister of the bride and Susanna McKinney, friend of the bride, were matrons of honour. The best man was Paul Howie, brother of the groom, and the groomsmen were Jamie King, Craig Morris and David Mudie, all friends of the groom. The flower girls were Ella and Lucy McColgan, second cousins of the bride. Nuptial mass was celebrated on St Patrick’s Church, Iskaheen, by Fr John Farren. The music was supplied by pianist Jeff Widdowson, bagpiper, E Neely and flautist Maria Alderin. The reception was held in the Redcastle Carlton Hotel and the honeymoon is being spent in Mauritius. 

 

Lights, camera, action

Time is running out for litter bugs in Muff as Donegal County Council and The Muff Development Co-Op have arranged to erect CCTV at Bank Site at St Mary’s Community Hall. This is part of ongoing cooperation with the council and the development committee with a new view of improved use and management of the site.

 

People of the Year

A gala banquet and presentation of the People of the Year Awards 2007 will take place in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny on Saturday, March 29. This year Inishowen has four representatives in the competition and good night entertainment is promised by the organisation. Music by The Barflies.
