Carn FC
With the first team’s match called off on Sunday, the focus was on the reserves O’Gara Cup quarter-final against Glengad. As this was the most important home match for the club at this stage of the season, everything possible was done to try and make the pitch playable, but the heavy rain of the weekend put paid to that and the team had to travel to Glengad to play the fixture. So what was always going to be a tough game became even tougher, but undeterred the lads travelled and came away with a brilliant 4-1 result. The evergreen Paul Farren was the star of the show and even scored one himself. Other scorers were Dermot Doherty, John Doherty and Sean O’Donnell. They will now meet Buncrana Reserves in the semi-final. Training times for the youth squads are as follows; Wednesday U/8’s from 5-6,U/10 from 6-7’s U/12 from 7-8. On Monday girls U/14 from 5-6 and U/14 boys from 6.30-8pm. U/16’s train on Friday from 5.30-7pm. Will all players please bring runners.
