Yoga Classes

Yoga Classes take place in Bocan Hall every Wednesday for Children at 4pm to 5pm and Adults from 7pm to 8pm. The numbers on the register are very small and the tutor is appealing for more people to join the register. Unless we have large numbers attending, these classes will be discontinued. Gleneely Colts FC

The Gleneely Colts FC Grand Draw will take place on Friday, April 18. The tickets and money must be returned by April 12, at our monthly meeting, Thank you. Our horses are now on sale priced at 15 euro for our Annual Night at the Races on Sunday ,May 4. Your support would be much appreciated. The monthly meeting of the Colts FC will take place in The Club House on April 12 at 7pm. All are most welcome.

 

Sponsored Walk

A Sponsored Walk is being organised in Aid of St Lukes Hospital, Dublin and the Day Care Unit of the Oncology Ward in Letterkenny Hospital. The walk will take place from Culdaff to Malin and back via Sheffrey’s Bridge on May 18 at 2pm. All welcome to take part. For sponsor cards please ring 93 79166.

Yoga Classes Course

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the wife Ruby and family of the late Herbert McEldowney of Cornwall, England and formerly of Glack, Culdaff. Herbert was 84 years of age. May he rest in peace.

Draw winners Gerard Doherty, Ourt, Mary McDermott, Falmore, Gleneely and Catherine McGilloway, Malin. Snow ball next week is 45 euro for a score of 187 or more.

Badminton success

Congratulations to Oliver Ruddy who recently won the Junior mixed with Sharon Knox and the Junior Men’s with Mark McConnell in The Coleraine Badminton Tournament.

Boxing tournament

Boxing Tournament on Friday, April 4 in The Stand Hotel, Ballyliffin at 8pm. Boxers from all over Ulster including Ulster Champions and All Ireland Champions. Admission adults 8 euro, children 5 euro.

Reunion

Scoil Mhuire Gleneely will hold their Reunion Dinner Dance on Friday, August 1 in the Malin Hotel, Music by The Country Boys. Dinner served at 8.30pm. Tickets are on sale in local shops and are priced at 25 euro each or any of the committee; ,Mary McDaid, Kathleen McCallion, 12 Foxwood Avenue, Gleneely, Joe Kearney, Hubert McLaughlin, Niall McDaid. If anyone has old photos before 1990 the committee would be most grateful to have a loan of them and they will be returned after the dance. Sympathy

Sympathy is offered to the relatives of the late Mary Gretta Smith formerly Doherty (Jack) of Chapel Street, Carndonagh. Mary Gretta was married and lived at the Lighthouse, Shrove, Greencastle for many years. May she rest in peace.

 

Gleneely FC Lotto

The numbers drawn in the Gleneely FC Lotto on March 30, 2008 were; 6, 10, 12 and 24. There was no jackpot winner and the twenty euor winners were; Michael Harkin, Ourt, Gleneely, Charlie Duffy, Moneydarragh, Gleneely, Tony Halwell, Moville, Conor McElhinney, Moneydarragh, and Mary McCarron, Drumley, Gleneely. Next week the jackpot is 3,150 euro and the draw will take place  in The Orchard Bar on Sunday night at 10pm.

 

Culdaff Football Club

The Culdaff Football Club are introducing a new yearly lotto. A special discount price of eight euro per year. New envelopes are available from club members. New envelopes can be entered in The Draw any time and will last for a year. All at the club would like to express their condolences to Brain Harris senior on the recent death of his father. May he rest in peace.

 

McGuinness Bar Golf Society

The latest outing took place to Greencastle Golf Club on St Patrick’s Day and 23 members participated. Winner of Section A was Paddy Mc Dermott followed by PJ O’Toole and Tony Gibbons. Winner of Section B was Mick Murphy followed by Seamus Doherty (B) and Seamus O’Connor. The longest drive was won by Don Ruddy, while Nearest The Pin was claimed by Neil Farren. The front nine was won by Brian McGonagle while the back nine went to John Fare. The next outing is on May Bank Holiday Weekend and is limited to 32 members. It is an overnight trip to Mayo to play Westport (Saturday) and Ballinrobe (Sunday) before returning on Monday. All interest in going must forward relevant fees to Captain Mr John O’Kane before Sunday, April 27. All in the society would also like to pass on our condolences to Neil Duffy and his family circle on the death of Neil’s brother Michael who died recently in Scotland. Michael was an active member of the society and may he Rest in Peace.

 

Orchard Bar Darts

Over 40 players took part in The Orchard Bar Darts Competition on St Patrick’s Day. For the Rose McLaughlin Perpetual Club and 400 euro. The winner was Junior Coyle, Burnfoot, while the runner up was Marty Quinn, Buncrana. Darren the organiser of the competition would like to thank all those who took part in the competition and looking forward to next year again. Texas Holden continues every Thursday and Sunday evening in the Orchard Bar, Gleneely. All are most welcome.

Inishowen Diabetes Support Group

Meeting in Carndonagh Hospital on Wednesday, April 9 at 8pm. They hope to have a dietician in attendance. At the recent church-gate Collection they raised 6,592 euro. They would like to thank everyone  who contributed in any way.

 

Gleneely Colts FC Development Big Draw

Draw will take place in McGrory’s Back Room Bar Culdaff on Friday, April 18 from 11pm, with the band Inspiration in attendance. First prize is 15,000 euro with eleven other great cash prizes. Your support will be very much appreciated by all.

 

Old-time dancing

Old-time dancing returns to the Wee Hall, Culdaff on Thursday, April 10 from 8.30 –10.30pm. Admission is 5 euro. Tea and biscuits served. Come along and enjoy the craic.
