Does Cancer Affect You?

Donegal Action for Cancer Care invites you to an Interdenominational Service for those affected by Cancer, which will take place in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny on Sunday, April 27 at 3pm.  It will give people an opportunity to come together to remember their loved ones, to five thanks for healing and to have hope for the future.  All welcome.  www.dacc.ie  A bus will leave Carndonagh at 1.30pm.  Booking essential.  Call Rita 086 6028993.

 

Gardening Club

The monthly Inishowen Gardening Club talk will be held on Monday, April 28, in Wesley Hall, Carndonagh at 8pm. The topic is rockery design and it will be given by Gordon Toner. All welcome. 

 

Social evening

The Foyle & Donegal Hospices Buncrana Support Group presents a social evening of Entertainment & Floral Art Exhibits in the Lake of Shadows Hotel, Buncrana on Thursday, April 24, at 8pm. Admission is 5 euro including a savoury supper. Approximately one hundred displays & various prizes (all donated) will be raffled on the night. Entertainment will be provided by Pauline Saunders, Kathy McCarthy, Stewart Buchanan, James Boyle & Irish Dancing by Aidan & Rachael McGinley, who are all giving their time free of charge. M.C. on the night will be Nicholas Crossan. Everyone is very welcome. Please bring a friend & support this worthy cause. Radio station agm

The AGM of Inishowen Community Radio will take place on Thursday May 8 at 7.30pm in the IDP offices (formerly the IRDL) in Pound Street Carndonagh.  All are welcome. 

 

Sponsored walk

There will be a sponsored walk in Aid of Alan Doherty Fund on Sunday May 18 at 3pm Leaving St Mary’s Hall Clonmany via Binnion, Tullagh, Rusty Nail and back to the hall for refreshments, music and raffle in James Tams at 10.30pm. The Carndonagh Active Retirement Group

Will hold a Tea Day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society downstairs in the Wesley Hall on Thursday  May 1, from 10.30am to 4.30pm Please support.

 

Fashion night

There will be a fabulous fashion and beauty night in the Ballyliffen lodge on Thursday, May 1 at 8pm in aid of Kiddies Corner, Malin Community Playgroup. Jewellery, fashion, shoes, bags, perfume, make-up and those must haves for ladies of all ages. There will be fashion parades throughout the night with a grand makeover finale for three lucky ladies, Tickets available in usual local outlets, playgroup and with all contributors.

 

Can you trip the light fantastic?

If not why not come along to the Wesley Hall on a Monday night at 8.30pm and learn to dance.  Classes recommence this week for eight weeks.

 

Computer, Internet & email Classes

First Aid

Intermediate First Aid will commence in the Wesley Hall on Thursday  May 15, booking is essential as places are limited.  This is a certified course, part funded by the Donegal VEC. and is 60 euro for 8 weeks.

The Care of the Aged groups

In each Parish throughout Inishowen are distribution a limited supply of Lagging Jackets and Low Energy Light Bulbs that they received from Action Inishowen to clients in their areas.   Please contact your local Care of the Aged Group if you or someone you know would benefit from these Energy Saving Devices.

Week day Mass Times There will be Mass on Monday  to Thursday at 10am. Mass on Friday will take place at 8pm Confessions will take place on Friday from 7pm – 7.45pm and Saturday 6pm to 6.45pm.

GAA

The winning numbers in the club mini-lotto were 7, 13,10, 23 and 1. There was no jackpot winner. The 75 euro went to Ruby Doherty(P), Glenmakee, Carndonagh. 30 euro to Ruby McCandless, Gleneely. 15 euro to Shane Donaghey, Tulnaree, Carndonagh. Shaun Bradley, 3 Ard Colgan, Carndonagh and Robert Walsh, Ballyliffen. The jackpot next week is 1400 euro and the draw will be held in Packie Farrens. In senior football both the reserves and seniors defeated Robert Emmetts in two hard fought games. Congratulations to the U/14 hurlers who recorded a good victory against McCumhaills.
