Carndonagh Community School Reunion

Did you start CCS in 1993? Did you sit the Leaving Cert in 1998? If so there is a 10-year reunion in The Ballyliffin Hotel on Sunday May 4. Tickets are 25 euro for Dinner, Band and Disco and are on sale in Value-Clean (Buncrana, Carndonagh and Moville) and Norris’ Shop, Moville. Tickets need to be bought by April 27. All proceeds are going to Charity.

 

Fashion and Beauty night

There will be a fabulous fashion and beauty night in the Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa on Thursday, May 1 at 8pm, in aid of Kiddies Corner, Malin Community Playgroup. Jewellery, fashion, shoes, bags, perfume, make-up and those must haves for ladies of all ages. There will be fashion parades throughout the night with a grand makeover finale for three lucky ladies!!! Tickets are available in all the usual local outlets, from the playgroup and all contributors.

McGlinchey Summer School

The McGlinchey Summer School will not take place this year, but the 2007 Summer School book – It’s Us They’re Talking About No 10 – is now available and on sale in local shops.

 

Inishowen Gardening Club

The monthly talk will be held on Monday, April 28 in Wesley Hall, Carndonagh at 8pm. The topic is rockery design and it will be given by Gordon Toner.

 

25 Card Drives

The weekly cards at Cloontagh school have now finished for the summer and will start again in November. We would like to thank everyone who supported the cards over the winter months.

 

Cots and Tots

Amanda and her staff at the Creche would like to thank everyone who helped raise 4,300 euro on pyjama day for Muscular Dystrophy Ireland and Crumlin Hospital for sick children in Dublin. 

 

Activity Club

An activity club is beginning soon in Clonmany for children aged 5 – 12 years. Anyone interested please contact 0863336517 or 0861064173 Monday to Friday between 10am and 6pm.

 

Sponsored Walk for Alan Doherty

There will be a sponsored walk in aid of the Alan Doherty Fund on Sunday, May 18 at 3pm. The walk will be leaving St Mary’s Hall, Clonmany and going via Binnion, Tullagh, the Rusty Nail in Crossconnell and back to the hall again where refreshments will be served to all participants. Sponsor cards are available by contacting Eddie on 9376781 or Breege on 9376391. Later that night at 10.30pm there will be music and a raffle in James Tams, Clonmany also in aid of the fund. All sponsor cards returned by that time will be entered into a special draw.

 

Social evening

The Foyle & Donegal Hospices Buncrana Support Group, present a social evening of Entertainment & Floral Art Exhibits in the Lake of Shadows Hotel, Buncrana on Thursday, April 24 at 8pm. Admission is 5 euro including a savoury supper. Approximately 100 displays & various prizes (all donated) will be raffled on the night. Entertainment will be provided by Pauline Saunders, Kathy McCarthy, Stewart Buchanan, James Boyle & Irish Dancing by Aidan & Rachael McGinley, who are all giving their time free of charge. M.C. on the night will be Nicholas Crossan. Everyone is very welcome. Please bring a friend & support this worthy cause. Irish Seniors Open

Accommodation is needed in the Ballyliffin area between Monday, June 16 and Sunday, June 22. Anyone with a suitable house to let in the Ballyliffin area can forward their details to Ballyliffin Golf Club on (074) 93 76119.

 

Youth Academy

Youth Academy registration day takes place on Saturday, April 12 at 4pm. All Ballyliffin Golf Club Juniors & juveniles are welcome to attend.

 

Cancer Care

Donegal Action for Cancer Care invites you to an Interdenominational Service for those affected by cancer. It will take place in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, on Sunday April 27, at 3pm. It will give people an opportunity to come together to remember their loved ones, to give thanks for healing and to have hope for the future. Everyone is welcome. Rasheny FC Grand Draw

The annual presentation dance and draw takes place on Sunday, May 4. First prize in the draw is 10,000 euro cash with many other valuable prizes. Amongst the prizes are : a  trip for 2 to Las Vegas; a week for 2 in Portugal;  a 46 inch TV; a year’s membership for 2 at Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa; the hire of a marquee with food supplied for 40 people; a lap top computer; a weekend for 2 in Paris and a mountain bike. Tickets are priced at 130 euro – with a meal for 2 on each ticket.  They are now on sale from committee members.

 

Resource Centre

Badminton every Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm, badminton is open to all children from age 6 upwards. New members are always welcome.

Keep-fit classes for women every Monday morning from 10 - 11am and Wednesday evenings from 7 - 8.15pm. There is also a keep-fit session for men every Wednesday evening from 8.30 - 9.30pm.  Disco dancing on Wednesday evenings from 5 – 6.30pm. New-comers are always welcome. Clonmany Shamrock’s lotto

The Clonmany Shamrock’s lotto numbers drawn on April 13 were: 6, 12, 22 and 23. There was no jackpot winner this week and the jackpot has now risen to 8,950 euro. Winners of 20 euro: Philip Brennan, Gaddyduff.

 

Urris Match and Win

The Match and Win jackpot wasn’t claimed last week and the jackpot has now risen to 2,820 euro. The years drawn last week were: 1967, 1970, 1972 and 1982. The winners of 15 euro were:
