Congratulations to Odhran McLaughlin, Gleneely, Coyle School; 1st in Horn Pipe and 4th in Boys Championship, under 13 at the All Ireland and International Dancing Championships in Castlebar.

 

Old Time Dancing

Old Time Dancing for beginners in The Wee Hall Culdaff every 2nd and 4th Thursday from 8.30 to 10.30. Admission is just 5 euro. Tea and biscuits served. Come along and enjoy the craic. All most welcome.

ICR Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Inishowen Community Radio (ICR) will take place on Thursday, May 8 at 7pm, in the offices of the Inishowen Development Partnership formerly the I.R.D in Pound Street, Carndonagh. Everyone is welcome to come along to the meeting and as always any community group that wishes to become community group members of the station only pay an annual 20 euro member fee.

 

McGuiness Bar Golfing Society

The next outing of the McGuiness Bar Golfing Society is on the May Bank Holiday weekend and is limited to thirty members. It is an overnight trip to Mayo to play Westport on (Saturday) and Ballinrobe (Sunday) before returning home on Monday. All interested in going must forward relevant fees to Captain Mr John O’Kane before Sunday, April 27.

 

Community Employment Project

A new community employment project is due to commence in the area shortly. This project will be based in Culdaff, Gleneely and Carrowmena areas. Gleneely Colts FC

Gleneely Colts FC will hold their Annual Night at the Races on Sunday, May 4. Horses are now on sale priced at 15 euro each. Your support would be much appreciated.

Culdaff 5K and Juvenile one mile road race takes place on Friday May 9 at Culdaff Post Office, Entry fee is 8 euro for the 5k, five euros for the 1 mile races, Details from 086 346698.

 

Whist Drive

Sponsored Walk

A Sponsored Walk is being organised in aid of St Luke’s Hospital Dublin and the Day Care Unit of the Oncology Unit in Letterkenny Hospital. The walk will take place from Culdaff to Malin and back via McSheffreys Bridge on May 18, 2pm. All welcome ring 9379166.

A further eight members will be co-opted to cater for the area age.

 

Carndonagh Community School Reunion

Did you start CCS in 1993? Did you sit the leaving cert in 1998? If so there is a 10year reunion planned for Sunday, May 4 in the Ballyliffin Hotel. Tickets are 25 euro for dinner, band and disco and are on sale in Valu Clean Carndonagh. Tickets should be purchased by 27 April and all proceeds are for charity.

Culdaff FC

The numbers drawn on April 20 for Culdaff FC were 1, 4, 9, 11, 12 and13. There was no jackpot winner. The twenty euro winners were Mrs E Johnson, Culdaff, Cathal McGonigle, Carrowmena, Anne Lynch, Culdaff. Next weeks jackpot is now 3,450 euro. The club is introducing a new yearly lotto with a special discount price of eighty euro per year. New envelopes are available from the Club Members. New envelopes can be entered in the draw at any time and will last for a year.

Bocan Community Play Group

Bocan Community Playgroup will have an open day on Friday May 2 at 10am to noon for children who will be attending the playgroup from September.

 

Sponsored Walk

There will be a Sponsored Walk in aid of Alan Doherty Fund on Sunday, May 18 at 3pm. It will leave St.Mary’s Hall Clonmany via Binion, Tullagh, Rusty Nail and back to the hall for refreshments after.
