Sad death

The death has taken place in Manchester of Sarah Browne, she died after a long illness, and had lived in Manchester for over 30 years. She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget Gallagher, Sappagh, Muff. She is survived by her husband Frank, children Frank, Maria, Lorraine, Denise and Yvonne, by her brothers, Dan, Frank, and Gerald, sisters Mary and Margaret, Liz, Teresa ,Annie, Rose, Kathleen, Bernie, and Colette, to all these deepest sympathy is extended. Sarah came home every year to visit her family in Muff and her husbands family in Mayo. Requiem Mass was celebrated in Christ the King Church,  Finneylane, and burial took place in Millane Cemetery, Chradle. Sarah will be sadly missed by all her family members and friends in Inishowen, Mayo, and England. May she rest in peace.

 

Sad loss

The death has taken place at her home Keady, Iskaheen, after a short illness of Jeannie McColgan. She was in her 88th year and was predeaced by her husband Pat 34 years ago, also by her daughter Mary Catherine. Jeannie was the last surviving member of the Arbuckle family. Deepest sympathy is extended to her sons Danny, Liam, Colm, Eugene and Patrick, to her daughters, Bridget, Eileen, and Grace also to her many grandchildren and friends. The Requiem Mass was concelebrated in St.Patrick’s Church, Iskaheen by Father John Farren, and Father Colm Morris. Offertory gifts were brought up by family members and the readings were by her granddaughters Angela, and Catherine McColgan, and her grandsons Patrick McCirr and Dermot Davenport. The music in the Church was supplied by the Brogan family. Burial took place in adjoining graveyard. Bridget lived for her family and was of a very quiet and gently nature. She was a members of the Muff Branch of the Apostolic workers for many years. She will be sadly missed by her family, extended family and her many friends in the area. May she rest in peace.

 

Lenten Trocaire

The Lenten Trocaire Collection for Muff and Iskaheen amounted to 5,153 euro and £919. Thanks for your generosity to this collection.

 

Parish Draw

The winners in this weeks Parish Draw were; Rose Thompson, Moville, 300 euro, Calvin Bradshaw, 200 euro, and May McLaughlin, Wheatfield, 100 euro.

 

Retreat

Community Bingo every Saturday in St Mary’s Community Hall at 9.15am. Your continued support is appreciated.

 

Naomh Padraig GAA

The numbers drawn in lasts weeks lotto draw were 1, 3, 6, 5, 7, 4 and 2. There was no jackpot winner however two 50 euro prizes went to WM McLaughlin C/O Rock and Lorraine Lynch. Next week’s jackpot will be 750 euro. The past week was a busy one on the field. The seniors beat Red Hughes by 3-06 to 2-03. While the reserves lost against same opposition by 5-09 to 1-05. The ladies also played two games last week, winning both. They defeated Pettigo by 6-08 to 1-03 and Bundoran by 3-10 to 1-03. This weekend the seniors and reserves are away to Robert Emmett’s.

 

Sinn Fein Lotto

The winning numbers in last weeks Sinn Fein lotto draw were 4 11 13 18. There was no jackpot winner. Two people had 3 numbers and won 50 euro. P Gallagher, Ballintra and Ekkie Volkmer, Mountcharles.

 

Mass for the Deaf

There will be a Mass for the profoundly deaf in the Nazareth House, Chapel, Bishop Street, Derry on Sunday May 4 at 3pm.

Quigley’s Point Swift Lotto

The numbers draw in this weeks Quigley’s Point Swift Mini Lotto were 3, 6, 9, 11, 12 and 13. There was no jackpot winner. Mae McColgan, Iskaheen, matched 5 numbers and wins 60 euro. Next weeks jackpot will be 890 and the draw will be on Tuesday night. The first team have their last home game of the season on Sunday against Redcastle, Kick off at 2pm. A date of mark on your calendar, June 20, when the very popular John B Keane Play “Moll” will be coming to St Marys Community Hall.
